In the Zoom web portal, you can add custom images as backgrounds for all Zoom Rooms in your account or for a specific room, floor, or location.

You can also customize Zoom Rooms digital signage content to share important messages when the room is not in use or the scheduling display background to use a custom image on your scheduling display device.

Zoom Rooms background image requirements

Before uploading a custom background image, follow these guidelines:

• Format: JPG/JPEG or 24-bit PNG (no alpha). Any transparent areas of PNGs will be shown on a white background.
• Recommended dimensions: 1920 x 1080 (landscape) or 1080 x 1920 (portrait) for 16:9 aspect ratio displays.
• Maximum dimension: 5120 x 2160 (landscape) or 2160x5120 (portrait)
• Maximum file size: 5 MB

Zoom brand assets are available for use in the creation of your own background.

How to upload a default background image for all Zoom Rooms

1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
2. In the navigation menu, click Room Management then Zoom Rooms.
3. Click the Account Settings link.
4. Click the Account Profile tab.
5. Under Setup, locate the Background image for Zoom Rooms setting.
6. Click Upload Image.
   Note: Verify your image follows our guidelines.
7. Select your image and click Open.
   You will see a preview of the image below the setting.
8. (Optional) If you want to lock the default image for all Zoom Rooms in your account, click the lock icon , then click Lock to confirm the setting.

In the future, if you want to change the image, click Upload New Image below the current default background. If you want to remove the image as the default background for all Zoom Rooms in your account, click Delete.

How to change the background image for an individual room, floor, or location

If the default image is not locked at the account level, you can upload a custom background image for a specific room, floor, or location.

1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
2. In the navigation menu, click Room Management then Zoom Rooms.
3. Using the tabs and Search function, locate the room, floor, or location you want to apply the background to, then click Edit to the right of it.
   Tip: If you don't see the Edit button, move the current window to a wider screen or use the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the panel.
4. Click the Rooms Profile tab.
5. Under Setup, locate the Background image for Zoom Rooms setting.
   If there's a default image being used at the account level, you will see a preview of that image along with the "Using account setting" notification on the right. 
6. Click Upload New Image.
   Note: Verify your image follows our guidelines.
7. Select your image and click Open.
   You will see a preview of the new custom image for that specific room or location.
   Tip: Click Reset to remove your uploaded image. If there's a default image uploaded at the account level, it will replace your uploaded image.
